Andrew
I became friends with Andrew at a children’s hospital during his all too frequent stays there that were a constant part of his beautiful life. He was the nephew of my oldest friend here in Minneapolis. I would go be with Andrew and spell his parents, uncle, and aunt during treatments and following operations for his brain tumor. His playful presence continually touched all that would allow him to play with their heart. He taught me to be gentle with my camera and with myself. Andrew left us much too early in 1990. His parents created the Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation to provide support for families with children with life-threatening cancers.
