 Iron Range
This gallery features examples of my work as a member of the Iron Range Community Documentary Project from 1986-1990. We were a cooperative group of photographers and writers seeking to use art as an agent for social change. I am grateful to the people of the Iron Range towns of Chisholm, Hibbing, and Keewatin Minnesota for teaching me about the process of being intimate and less obtrusive despite having a camera always in my hands. The complicated connection to the landscape of the mining industry I witnessed on the Iron Range informs my present work as I take a hard look at our domination relationship to our planet.
